We all arrived in Soldotna yesterday to begin the preparation for the Warriors on Wheels trip. Students flew into Anchorage from Nunapitchuk, Aniak, Buckland, Kobuk, Shaktoolik, and Kotzebue. The remaining students flew in from Hooper Bay, Chevak, Scammon Bay, and Mountain Village. We will have about 50 of us, counting chaperones, driving the 4000 miles to Warrior Leadership Summit. Warrior Leadership Summit is a gathering of over 700 native youth from close to 100 different tribes.
We will learn a lot while there but we will also learn a lot while on the trip. We will be traveling through beautiful mountains, and along side of a lot of lakes and rivers. We will see bears, mountain sheep, elk, deer, antelope, buffalo, and many other types of wildlife not common in our village. We will also see the more common ones such as moose and caribou.
I hope you visit this blog often to check out the new pictures we will be posting.

  1. We made it to Canada save and sound. Camped in Beaver Creek last night. Weather and atmosphere are good. More updates the next few days.
    Blessings.
